When I first started writing for businesses, a content writer’s bread and butter was SEO. I learned the principles of SEO from my first ever manager, Chris. He had worked for some big names in the office and stationary space and was an SEO whiz. Even though we both worked for a door manufacturing company, every piece of content we created had been thoroughly researched, keywords tracked, competitors noted.
I’ve always remembered what Chris taught me about SEO. It helped me build my understanding of how content marketing works. Even though SEO is very different today than it was 8 years ago, organic content is going to play a role in the future of search in one way or another.
Anyway, here is the longest consistent run of content marketing articles I wrote for the marketing team at Satchel. These blogs helped to consistently raise our search rankings for competitive keywords in the edtech space. Every article went through a keyword research tool, and was cross-referenced with our website’s performance on tracked keywords with the SEO Manager.
I wrote, ghostwrote, edited and guest blogged more than 60 posts for the Satchel blog during my tenure, here is a selection of some of my best:
- The Complete Guide to Reducing Teacher Workload
- What is Pedagogy? An introduction to learning theories
- What is Lesson Sequencing and how can it save you time?
- The Problem with British Values
- Lessons from Lockdown 3.0
